My wife and I were looking for a used car this past fall. After taking the car off the lot for a test drive, we took it by Tom’s Auto Clinic for a check-up. We are from Chicago and found his place through Yelp. As expected (based on previous reviews), the service we received was excellent. We were welcomed by Tom’s wife Jan who was a pleasure to be around. As we waited for our car, we spoke to Jan about the history of their place, the downtown Elgin area, and their dog (who was resting comfortably behind Jan’s desk). We had a question about a rattle in the back of the car so Tom volunteered to drive around downtown Elgin with us in order to hear the rattle and diagnose the problem. We had an all-around great experience with Tom and Jan. My wife and I were lucky to have met this fine couple and their excellent auto shop.
